Are You & Your Family Looking For Something Special

The Kind Of Home That Only Gets Built Once In A Lifetime

Than You Won’t Want To Miss This

Meet The Owner:

This was a property I, Tim Murphy, through my company GroundUp Development, LLC, purchased from Janice who reached out to me because our construction company Exceptional Homes & Remodeling was building new homes in her neighborhood. Janice had lived in this home since 2006. She loved this little old house but it was time for her to move on. She just retired from her job and was ready for a warmer climate.

I explained to her how I wanted nothing more than to make this transition in her life as smooth and stress free as possible. She literally said, “Everything you are telling me sounds almost too good to be true.”

I responded, “Perfect!

When we are done with this whole process I will ask you if I delivered on all my promises.”

Funny thing was… I asked her while we were at the closing table… When she was just about to hand me the keys.

I asked, “Did I live up to all my promises?”

She said, “You did… And then some!! Thank You So Much!”

Before

The Situation:

Now that I owned this property and its amazing location. The next thing we needed to figure out was… “What are we going to do with it.” As a real estate developer this is the BEST PART!

I really enjoy designing homes that compliment and improve the neighborhoods we are redeveloping.

As a custom home builder our options are endless.

It all comes down to giving “The People” what they want. Because I am working with buyers and sellers everyday, as a real estate agent, I have my finger on the pulse of today’s consumer. It only made sense for us to start there as we began designing this trendsetting model home.

After

Afer several meeting with my architect and interior design team… It hit me!!

Scandinavian Modern was the design we would bring to Pamela Park, Edina.

Because this style of design fits the Minnesota culture. It’s not too modern — It’s not too traditional — It’s Just Right.

Check it out for yourself.

Options:

When factoring in our budget to build this model home… we needed to decide on the best course of action.

With the budget we had on this project. We were left with two options.

Option 1: We focus on Quality. Quality finishes, Quality products and Quality craftsmanship. Even though we knew this choice might expand our budget. We couldn’t pass up on building a home people will be talking about for years to come.

Option 2: Focus on profits. Building a home with lesser quality materials and craftsmanship. A home that takes less time and delivers us more profit. The kind of home you see all to often.

For Groundup Development there is only one option

Focus On Quality

The Decision (and Result):

Now that we decided building a top quality home was the only way we could go. It was time to dream up the perfect look & feel for this dream home.

Based on today’s 2021 design trends we were ready to push the boundaries a little. My design team and I agreed we would use a Scandinavian Modern design as our influence for this new GroundUp Development model home.

When you are starting off, you need to think about functionality first. Over the years we have found 4 bedrooms up is a hard product to find. We have also come to realize having your luandry upstairs is a must. But, having your laundry right off your mater bedroom closet is even better. Then comes the design of a master bathroom that makes you feel like you’ve arrived at the spa every morning.

However, the most important room, the one we design first, is always your kitchen. Because a family’s home revolves around their kitchen. It’s the heartbeat of every Minnesota home.

This kitchen had to be open, with a large island counter for the kids and guests. It had to have top of the line cutting edge cabinets. With real white oak frameless doors, floating white oak shelves and a trendy hood. Most of all it had to have “The Look.” You know, the kind that is hard to discribe… But you know it when you see it.

The kind of look that makes you feel something.

Excited about where we were going with our design of this home. We still couldn’t forget about key factors that make this $1.4 million dollar home special.

Factors like its open concept floor plan we achieved by adding a bumpout, eat in kitchen, space off the back of the house.

Or

The beautiful natural light we brought in this home through a large Marvin Integrity window in the grand staricase. Including custom hand crafted white oak stars with a hand made, matte black, iron railing everyone will admire.

Last, but not least, we couldn’t forget to mention the piece of art, the basement bar, our cabinet maker created. Made of 100% white oak. This simply elegant bar will be a conversation piece for years to come.

The Secret To Making It Happen:

None of this is possible without the amazing team GroundUP Development has put together for building dream homes like this home at 5832 Kellogg Ave S, Edina.

Everyone from our architect, designers at Ravishing rooms and most of all my good friend and general contractor Chris at EHR Construction.

Building dream homes, like this, is truly a team effort.

As a Value-Driven Investor, I Tim Murphy, take immense pride in assembling a great team of people who love what they do. Because when you do your best work for the love of it and not just for money. It shows!

When you work with people you respect. It shows!

When you do the right thing.. Because it’s the right thing to do. It shows!

So, the next time you see a little old, worn out, beat up home in Edina. Remember, it’s not as easy as 1,2,3. Unless you have a TEAM, with a Value-Driven Approach, who you know, like and trust to get the job done right.

Thank You to our TEAM of Value-Driven Experts who work tirelessly on behalf of our treasured clients and their families.
